The Ask
Create a journey for users that matches potential customers to local merchants accepting Snap Finance products.
The Research
Knowing that certain Snap product offerings vary by state, we needed to create a solution that was broad enough to capture any and all use cases. We had to understand the laws governing each state and how that would impact showing vendors and available products to users.
The Approach
We decided to leverage a "natural language" search to ask for type of product and zip code. Our research showed that users like to stay as anonymous as possible and asking for a zip was notable in serving results nearby without intruding on the users privacy. This also allowed for us to identify and serve the proper results based on governing state.
The Result
The result was a dramatic 39% increase in merchant applications submitted. Users were much more likely to make a purchase if they know they are approved before visiting the merchant. It also created an increase in merhcant foot traffic as the results often included stores that did not have a notable web presence.
